Built on a shortened long chassis and fitted with 1½ litre Le Mans type coachwork, this is an interesting variation on the 1½-2 litre theme. It combines the good looks and practicality of the Le Mans with a beautifully made 2/4 seater body, and the power and torque of the 2 litre engine and relative sophistication of the 2 litre chassis and running gear, including the synchromesh Moss gearbox and an hydraulic brake conversion. This combination makes the car a delight to drive and a very pleasant long legged tourer, easily capable of keeping up with modern traffic, and with considerable scope to improve performance. Restored about 12 years ago and relatively little used since, it had at this time, a completely rebuilt engine including a new cylinder block fitted with steel crank and steel Corillo type conrods. This means that the bottom end of the engine is strong enough for the engine to be tuned to produce up to 140bhp which would make this a very exciting motorcar indeed. This interesting vintage Aston will be in my showroom in the New Year from where it can be inspected and tested.
