One of three similar Le Mans built in the 1980's by Morntane Engineering Ltd. using derelict long chassis cars, this is as near a perfect copy of an Le Mans as is possible, at a considerable discount on the price of a genuine short chassis in similar condition (at least £150K). Fitted with a steel crank and rod race prepared engine producing 95bhp, with Ulster cam, 1½inch carbs., extractor exhaust and lightweight Ulster type wings, this car has been used in gentle competition (including at least two Mille Miglia) for the last 20 years. It has therefore been well maintained, mostly by Ecurie Bertelli Ltd. Sadly, it lost its windscreen and hood in a very bitter divorce 10 years ago, but replacements could be supplied. The car is in my Olney showroom for inspection and is race or rally ready.
Price £120,000
